About the Artist

Ron McIntosh

Ron was hired this year by the University of Nebraska to teach art. You can see why Ron was chosen out of all of the candidates who applied when you look at this work. This is the first time he has lived in Nebraska and finds the people wonderfully friendly and loves working with students as well as working on his own art.  These are not the only pieces we have in the gallery and as they sell we get more in so feel free to write or call if you want to see additional images.

Ronald's artist's statement:

My work depicts simple objects.I attempt to paint visual metaphores using  mundane subjects.Using trompe l'oeil I invite the viewers of my paintings  to find a moment in time, seeing twigs, paper, tape, string, globes,  leaves, broken paint brushes and pencils. My aim is to suspend time and  space exhibiting things with their own sense of place.NOW.

Ironically, I use illusion painting to suggest the truth. I lie to be as clear and honest as I can. I like to bring a spiritual reality into a  material world.
