About
the Artist
Rod Fergason
"My work is the accumulation
of a lifetime of experiences. Growing up and living
in many parts of the USA, Costa Rica and Africa. Traveling
to exotic lands, going on Safaris. Knowledge of the
geology and landscape of the American west learned
from my father. A career of teaching the arts in public
schools. My interest in music, building guitars and
the love of working with beautiful wood have all led
to the idea of creating fountains from wood.
My work has been shown in Orlando,
Houston, Chicago, Castle Rock,Colorado, Minneapolis,
Kansas City and Topeka. Last year I was awarded The
Best in Wood Category at the Brookside Art Annual
in Kansas City. This year I received "The Best
In Fine Crafts" at The Castle Rock Art Fest.
It is my intention to create fountains
which are beautiful to look at even when they are
not running. Some people call them sculpture, some
call them water falls. But either way they are "Fountains
of Wood".
